ETHICALLY ARTISAN HANDCRAFTED
Our jewellery is meticulously handmade by skilled traditional artisans in the rural heartlands of Bali, Vietnam, and India.
Each piece is a celebration of heritage craftsmanship, infused with soul and story.
We proudly champion fair trade practices across every stage of production, ensuring our artisan partners are paid fairly and treated with respect.
By supporting these communities, we not only provide meaningful income but also help preserve these age-old techniques that have been passed down through generations.
03 - our materialS
NATURAL, SUSTAINABLE
We are dedicated to crafting beautiful jewellery using only ethically sourced materials.
From sustainably harvested woods to buffalo horn, which is a waste material, by-product of the farming industry.
We ensure that every piece has a minimal impact on the planet. Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we create.
04 - TREE PLANTING
GIVING BACK
For every order placed online, we automatically fund the planting of a tree through Ecologi’s restoration projects, supporting the growth of native species that flourish in their natural habitat, carefully planted by skilled local planters.
05 - THE JOURNEY
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Wendy’s love affair with jewellery began at a young age, rooted in nature and fuelled by creativity. Inspired by her local woodlands, her earliest designs were whimsical pieces crafted from acorns, twine, and anything else that sparked her imagination.
In her early twenties, Wendy set off on her first adventure to South-East Asia - an experience that ignited a deep passion for travel. What began as a single journey soon evolved into much more, with Wendy travelling and working overseas for eight years. Her wanderlust led her across the vibrant landscapes of South-East Asia and the rich, diverse cultures of Africa.
As Wendy began to explore the world, her creative eye matured. Travels through India and the Far East uncovered a deeper passion for natural materials - sparkling crystals, polished stones, and intricate artisan craftsmanship. What began as a personal collection of beautiful pieces gifted to loved ones soon became a foundation for something much greater: an instinctive ability to seek out rare, sustainable materials and transform them into striking, wearable art.
The turning point came during Wendy’s first trip to Africa. Wandering through vibrant markets and remote villages, Wendy was captivated by the bold silhouettes and raw beauty of traditional, handcrafted jewellery. In a small village in Malawi, she met a gifted wood carver and commissioned a selection of simple wooden bangles. Their natural elegance struck a chord, and it was in that moment that the seed of Branch Jewellery was planted.
Having witnessed firsthand the stark contrasts of wealth across the world, Wendy was driven to create a brand deeply rooted in ethical values and slow fashion principles. Inspired by the incredible craftsmanship of traditional artisans she encountered on her travels, she set out to build something meaningful - a jewellery brand that champions sustainability, empowers rural communities, and celebrates age-old artisanal techniques. Her vision was clear: to craft beautiful, timeless pieces using natural materials, while ensuring fair wages and preserving the cultural heritage of traditional craftsmanship for generations to come.
Armed with a sketchbook full of inspired designs, Wendy then journeyed to Bali, Indonesia, in search of traditional wood carvers. There, she collaborated with skilled local artisans to set up a sustainable workshop using responsibly sourced wood. From these first designs, a powerful creative partnership was born—one that still flourishes today across two workshops, where her wooden collection continues to be handmade with care, integrity, and purpose in the very same workshops.
Upon returning to the UK with her debut collection, Wendy began selling her handcrafted pieces at London’s iconic Portobello and Spitalfields markets. The response was nothing short of phenomenal. Wendy was in business. From here she received some early support from The Prince’s Trust and recognition from the British Fashion Council, Branch Jewellery quickly gained global attention. Wendy’s bold, nature-inspired designs have graced catwalks across the UK and Europe, and are now stocked in some of the world’s most prestigious boutiques. Celebrated by Vogue, Elle, and other leading fashion publications, her pieces have become a symbol of contemporary elegance with an ethical soul.
